NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP WEEK
Friday, 10 February 2012

Stuart Andrew MP for Pudsey, Horsforth and Airebrough supported National Apprenticeship Week and care in the community by visiting Suffolk Care Home where the Yorkshire College of Beauty apprentices carried out a number of relaxing and enjoyable treatments on the residents, whilst at the same time covering part of their assessed course.

Stuart Andrew said “Apprenticeships are increasingly recognised as the gold standard for work-based training. They are designed with the help of the employers in the industry, so they offer a structured programme that takes you through the skills you need to do a job well. Apprentices learn on the job, building up knowledge and skills, gaining qualifications and earning money all at the same time. Employers recognise and value apprenticeships as they show that you’ve been trained in the skills they need.  It was an honour to help celebrate National Apprenticeship Week and the countless achievements of learners and employers.”
