Stuart hosts the first Environment Forum

Following the climate change protests that many young individuals participated in around the country, Stuart Andrew, MP for Pudsey, Horsforth and Aireborough, reached out to all the schools in the constituency to invite them to an Environmental Forum, the first of which was hosted on Friday 6 Sep

Ambulance Response Times

Responding to an article in the Yorkshire Post (available here), Stuart has written to the Chief Executive of the Yorkshire Ambulance Service and the Secretary of State for Health to seek answers on why emergency response times to top-priority calls have not met their target times at all in some areas of Pudsey, Horsforth and Aireborough.

EU Referendum

As you will no doubt be aware, Stuart announced his intention to vote to leave the European Union, and his statement as to why can be viewed on this website. Stuart was always keen to hear the views of his constituents, and he invited them to complete a survey and contact him with any concerns or questions they may have had, as well as holding a public meeting in the constituency on the subject. In this role, I assisted the Secretary of State in the House of Commons Chamber, liaised with MPs, arranged briefing meetings and offered other such support.

Inquiry into Living with Heart Failure

In his role as Chair of the APPG on Heart Disease, Stuart has launched an Inquiry into Living with Heart Failure. The Inquiry provides an opportunity to work with patients, health care professionals, the Government and NHS England to identify ways to improve the outcomes and experience for people with heart failure, and their families and carers.

Flooding Response

Stuart has met with fellow Leeds MPs, cross-party, and the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, to discuss flood defences in Leeds following the recent floods across Yorkshire. At the meeting, it was made clear that Leeds requires a comprehensive flood defence system, which takes account of residential and business property requirements.

Airstrikes in Syria
