Stuart, joined by other Leeds MPs and Councillor’s from both political parties, met with the Floods Minister this week to reiterate how crucial it is that enough funding is provided to the region to help build adequate flood defences following the Storm Eva flooding in 2015.
Following the recent Site Allocation Plan Inspection, Stuart was very pleased to hear that treasured Green Belt sites would no longer be consider a ‘Broad Location’ that Leeds City Council could potentially build on in the future, and that these sites marked as ‘Broad Locations’ would be reconsid
Stuart was delighted to open up a brand new Trim Trail that will provide kids with the chance to let off some steam after an old trail was closed in 2016. The £9,000 needed was donated by a combination of local businesses and the school’s Parent Teacher Association.
On Friday 12th October Stuart visited RPC UK in Guiseley, which provides market-leading advice for capital project management. Stuart talked to them about the vital service they provide, as well as being an important source of jobs within the constituency.
On Saturday 20th, Sunday 21st and Monday 22nd October, Network Rail will be undertaking major work to upgrade the signalling system along the Calder Valley route between Pudsey to Hebden Bridge via Bradford Interchange and Halifax.
Stuart is joining over 500 other MPs to plant trees as part of the Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy, a network of forest conservation initiatives to mark Her Majesty the Queen’s lifetime of service to the Commonwealth.
