Stuart Andrew, MP for Pudsey, Horsforth and Aireborough, today called on the Prime Minister to ensure the digital and creative industry continues to flourish in Leeds with a fair share of the £1billion of funding announced in the Autumn Statement for better broadband.
A Horsforth man joined Stuart Andrew MP in parliament on 23 November to call for more support for women with ovarian cancer across the UK. Paul Shagouri’s wife Christine died from ovarian cancer in 2015, and he continues to campaign for better support for women with the disease.
Stuart and Cllr Andrew Carter, the leader of Leeds City Council Conservative Group, have welcomed the Transport Secretary’s decision to announce the preferred route for HS2 from the West Midlands to Leeds.
Stuart has welcomed the news that employment across the UK continues to run at a record high, the unemployment rate has fallen to an 11-year low, and that according to today’s figures there are 172,000 more people back in work in Yorkshire and the Humber since 2010.
