Dear Leeds MPs
I am writing to thank you for the fantastic support you gave to our group last week during our visit to the Houses of Parliament during National Learning Disabilities Week.
We had an absolutely amazing day and learned so much about how democracy operates at a national level. More importantly, we made contact with you – our MPs – and we are really looking forward to building on this and working more closely with you in the future. For those of you who were unable to join us, we do hope that there will be further opportunities in the future. I have attached a ‘photo story’ of our visit which I hope you will enjoy!
As we mentioned during our visit, we are working closely with the Parliamentary Outreach team and will hopefully deliver a large event in Leeds with them in the autumn. We will try to ensure that we do this on a Friday, so that as many of you as possible will be able to join us. I will write to you with more details nearer the time.
So, on behalf of people with a learning disability in Leeds, Tenfold, Mencap, Leeds City Council, Leeds Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and NHS Leeds, thank you once again for all your help and support, and we look forward to working with you again in the near future.
