Pudsey, Horsforth and Aireborough MP Stuart Andrew recently expressed his relief that the Leeds City Council scheme designed to ease congestion on the Ring Road at Horsforth has been dropped after two days of traffic chaos in the area.
Stuart and the ward Councillors intervened following various complaints from constituents living nearby and the users of the Horsforth to Rodley Ring Road about the disruption, with locals complaining over 45 minutes being added to the daily commute and extensive tailbacks leading up to Horsforth roundabout.
Stuart said: “I am very relieved that the scheme has been dropped, and I appreciate Leeds City Council doing so swiftly and apologising for the chaos it caused. The ward Councillors and I are now planning to meet with Leeds City Council Highways Department so we can work out an approach to a new solution that will lead to an acceptable way to ease congestion in this area without such adverse side effects. The Councillors and I will keep constituents informed of any developments.”
