Stuart has today backed the announcement that there will be increased funding for social care for the region. It was announced by the Government that Leeds will receive over £3million in additional funding to ease pressure on the health service going into the winter.
The money will go specifically towards home care packages, which will help constituents out of hospital quicker and ensure they can go home as soon as they are ready. Money will also be put aside to help patients within their homes to adapt and regain mobility to carry out everyday tasks.
Stuart said: “I am very pleased that Leeds is receiving this funding to help cope with the pressures that the winter months can bring on our health service. I will continue to ensure that as much funding as possible comes into our constituency to help our residents over the coming months."
