The very first Young Persons Fair is being held at Crawshaw Academy on Robin Lane in Pudsey TOMORROW from 12pm until 7pm.
Stuart said: “Providing our young people with the best start in life is an area very close to my heart.
It is very important that we support youngsters through whatever is troubling them and I am delighted at the number of fantastic local businesses attending to discuss the opportunities available including Abraham Moon & Sons, A.W. Hainsworth and Sons, the Phoenix Partnership, the International Citizen Service and Jordan’s Solicitors. We are also being joined by personnel from the Royal Navy, Royal Marines and the West Yorkshire Police Cadets who will be talking to my young constituents and their parents about the range of careers on offer.
There are a number of organisations attending to discuss road safety – West Yorkshire Police will be giving presentations throughout the day called “One Life Lost” and Leeds City Council will be bringing reality goggles to show a film scenario and discussing journey planning and half price bus passes with youngsters. Bike Right are also joining us, who are the UK’s leading cycle training organisation and have training solutions for all individuals at all levels, including free cycling tuition and courses.
Advice will also be available from Leeds Trinity University, the Samaritans and the Prince’s Trust for any concerns that youngsters or their parents may be having with either their personal life or with their educational prospects.
A lot of hard work and organisation has gone into making this Fair a success and I would like to personally thank all of those who have offered to help and those who have worked so tirelessly to help me put this together. It really will be a fantastic day and I am very much looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow.”
